Spot & Stretch: A Giraffe in Motion
One of our young artists created this wonderful drawing of a giraffe stretching forward with curiosity and purpose. Using soft charcoal, they focused on the animal’s long, sweeping neck and bold spots, capturing both its unique shape and sense of movement.
The loose shading beneath the legs suggests ground or elevation, as though the giraffe is stepping carefully across a branch or ridge at dusk. Even with simple lines, the drawing holds a strong feeling of motion and balance — a beautiful example of how gesture can bring an animal to life.
