Summer Art Camp
15th Annual Summer Art Camp 2025
In 2025, we’re celebrating 15 years of Summer Art Camp at Wychwood Barns! We’re excited to offer a fun-filled art camp for kids aged 5-9. Campers will be grouped by age and enjoy various open-ended, age-appropriate art activities, including sculpture, print-making, drawing, painting, and mixed media. Along with the creative fun, campers will spend plenty of time outdoors in Wychwood Park.
This camp is perfect for kids who are passionate about making art and having a blast! It will be held in the Peter McKendrick Community Gallery on the east side of Wychwood Barns, a bright, spacious, and air-conditioned space. These camps will run from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Campers should bring nut-, seed-, and fish-free snacks and lunch and arrive dressed for the mess in weather-appropriate clothing.
Stay tuned! We’re hoping to add a camp for kids aged 10-12. Full summer camp details, including dates, will be available in early January 2025
Be prepared…More Camp Info!
For Summer Camp, a parent information email will be sent out one week before the camp begins. In the meantime, here are some details to help you prepare:
Food
Campers should arrive with morning and afternoon snacks, lunch, and a water bottle. All food must be nut, seed, and fish-free to ensure the safety of all campers.
Sunscreen
Campers should arrive wearing sunscreen, with an additional bottle packed and labeled with their name. Staff will help reapply sunscreen as needed throughout the day.
Clothing
Children should come “dressed for mess” in clothes suitable for getting dirty and painted, including their bathing suits. Closed-toe shoes or Crocs are recommended. Campers should wear their bathing suits under their clothing for the splash pad or pool. Please also pack a hat, towel, and minimal extra items—all belongings should fit in a regular-sized backpack. Long hair must be tied back in a ponytail at all times.
Drop-off & Pick-up
Camp runs from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Please arrive on time for drop-off and pick-up. If you’re running late, contact us at 647-808-8590. A $25 late fee will apply for late pickups.
Washroom Breaks
Children will use either the single stall in our studio or the public washrooms at Artscape Youngplace or Wychwood Barns, always supervised by a teacher. Our “no stall” policy means teachers do not enter toilet stalls unless in case of an emergency. Campers must be able to use the restroom independently.
Scooters, Bikes, Electronics, and Personal Items
Cell phones and iPads are not allowed at camp. Parents or caregivers can reach us at 647-808-8590 if necessary. Bikes and scooters must be locked outside. Please avoid sending pillows, sleeping bags, yoga mats, or overnight suitcases. Ensure you collect all your child’s belongings at pickup, as the studio is not responsible for lost items.
Labels
Please label all your child’s items, including clothing, hats, shoes, towels, food containers, water bottles, sunscreen, and any other belongings before dropping them off at camp.
