2027 Summer Camp Info and Policies Brief: More info is sent to parents one week in advance of the camp

Camp Hours & Location

Camp Hours:
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
(Drop-off begins at 8:30 AM)

Location:
Community Gallery, East Side of Wychwood Barns (Corner of Benson Avenue & Wychwood Avenue) Entrance faces Wychwood Avenue.

Parking

• Free parking on Benson Avenue begins at 10:00 AM.
• Parking is also available on Wychwood Avenue and Christie Street beginning at 6:00 AM.
• Please note: Wychwood Barns is a targeted ticketing area.
• The loading zone is reserved for tenants only.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up 

8:30 – 5:30pm 

Sign-In / Sign-Out

• It is MANDATORY to sign your child in upon arrival.
• Please complete all columns on the sign-in sheet, including:
  • Child’s name
  • Adult responsible for pick-up
  • Emergency phone number
  • Any other required information
• Remember to sign your child out at pick-up.
• Attendance is taken regularly throughout the day, including during outdoor activities.

Clothing & Personal Items

• Dress for art-making and outdoor play. Clothing may get messy, wet, or stained. MUST BRING A HAT & Sunscreen
• We strongly recommend sending two sets of extra set of clothes.
• Shoes must be worn at all times, including at the park. Extra socks please!
• Please do not send toys or stuffed animals unless they are needed for anxiety or comfort.
• Bikes and scooters must be locked outside using the posts located at the corner of the building.

Food & Drinks

Please pack:

• Lunch
• Snacks
• Drinks

Allergy & Food Policies

• NO nuts or seeds — this is extremely important.
• No fish.
• All food and drink containers must be clearly labelled.
• No glass containers.
• Food delivery to camp is not permitted.
• Children may not share food with other campers (except siblings).

Safety

• Long hair must be tied back.
• Shoes must be worn at all times.
• EpiPens and inhalers must be brought to camp, worn by the child when required, and must not be expired.
• Running is not permitted inside the gallery or Wychwood Barns buildings.

Health Policy

Please keep your child home if they are experiencing symptoms of illness, including cold or flu symptoms.

Children must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours after:

• Vomiting
• Diarrhea

before returning to camp.

Washrooms

• We provide a gender-neutral washroom stall.
• Children must be able to use the washroom independently, as staff cannot provide personal washroom assistance.
• We occasionally use the public washroom facilities in Barn 3. Children are supervised at all times when travelling to and from the washroom.

Electronics & Transportation Items

The following items may not be used during camp:

• Drones
• Cell phones
• iPads or tablets
• Bikes
• Scooters

Older children may store personal devices in their bags or coat pockets.

We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Playground & Outdoor Time

We regularly visit the playground at 76 Wychwood Avenue.

Please note that some areas may be under construction. Staff will ensure children avoid any restricted or unsafe areas.

• Children must remain within designated boundaries at all times.
• Staff carry a fully stocked first-aid kit during all outdoor activities.

Artwork

Artwork will be sent home daily in a paper bag whenever possible.

Please review your child’s belongings at pick-up to ensure artwork goes home safely.

Lost & Found

We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Please ensure your child leaves camp each day with all personal belongings.

Forms, Fees & Receipts

• Registration forms must be completed and submitted before your child’s first day of camp.
• Camp fees must be paid in full prior to attendance unless alternative arrangements have been made.
• The registration form serves as your receipt

Extreme Weather Policy

The safety of our campers, families, and staff is always our priority. We closely monitor Environment and Climate Change Canada weather forecasts and extreme weather alerts throughout the camp day. These alerts may be issued for a variety of conditions, including extreme heat, poor air quality, severe storms, heavy rainfall, and flooding.

Our camps will continue to operate during Yellow Alerts; however, we will remain closed when an Orange or Red Alert is in effect. If an Orange or Red Alert is issued while children are already at camp, parents and guardians will be contacted by email and emergency pick-up will be mandatory. We kindly ask families to ensure that they, or an authorized emergency contact, are available to pick up their child promptly if needed.

As extreme weather and related alerts are beyond our control, refunds, credits, or make-up days cannot be offered for weather-related closures or early dismissals. We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep our campers and staff safe.
